Jamie Foxx is letting the world know he is "thankful" and recuperating after an undisclosed illness that required months of medical treatment.
"Finally startin to feel like myself," Fox, 55, wrote on Instagram Wednesday, sharing several photos that show him standing in the doorway of an exotic locale, wearing sunglasses and a crocheted bucket hat. "It’s been an unexpected dark journey."
"But I can see the light," he added, ending the post with the cheeky hashtags #swipeleft #imbackandimbetter #nobaddays.
"I’m thankful to everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers," Foxx wrote. "U just don’t know how much it meant ... and if you didn’t know … GOD IS GOOD … all day every day."
In April, the Foxx family revealed on Instagram that the actor "experienced a medical complication" and was recovering in a post shared by his daughter. Details of the mystery condition have been kept airtight, but the Oscar-winning actor has been stepping back into the public eye, including a public controversy, and has a new movie, the R-rated dog film "Strays," coming out Friday. His previous movie, "They Cloned Tyrone," came out less than a month ago.
In a July Instagram video, Foxx explained: "I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through. I know a lot of people were waiting, wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn't want you to see me ... with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through."
The most recent post brought out even more reaction from Foxx's Hollywood friends, including Jeremy Renner, who wrote "Bless you my friend!!!" in the comments. Octavia Spencer added her agreement with God being good, writing, "Yes He is!!! Glad you’re better."
Tamar Braxton wrote, "Brother I know that feeling!!! It only gets better from here! Thank God❤️❤️❤️❤️."
Garcelle Beauvais commented, "God is amazing and so are you! ❤️."
